September is when life returns to a more normal rhythm. The sometimes slower pace of summer gives way to a more structured and rapid way of life. I read a brief article recently called, Learning to Embrace the In-Between. It can be exciting to begin a new project. And, finishing a project is very fulfilling. It’s the middle part that many of us struggle with. Yet as author Jeff Goins points out, often the middle is where the important stuff happens.
There’s not many of us who enjoy waiting. Most of us could do better accepting the importance waiting plays in our lives. Much of life involves waiting. Goins writes, “Maybe the ‘good stuff’ isn’t ahead of or behind us. Maybe it’s somewhere in between. Right in the midst of this moment, here and now…. Perhaps, the abundant life we’ve been seeking has little to do with big events and comes in a subtler form: embracing the pauses in between major beats.”
Here at Elim we are excited about this fall ministry season. Each day is a gift from God. Let’s embrace it, live in the moment and find purpose and meaning in a life daily surrendered to God.
